A Free ebook Won't Help

Picture
When was the last time a free ebook made a big impact on you?  Skim it once, and by lunch time it's a distant memory.

I'll tell you in a minute about what me and my friends did to level-up, but first you should know that m
ost of the time we don't need more information.  (We've all got too much competing for our attention as it is.)

In this age of distraction, the last thing you need is a 'to do' list of 48 life hacks.

Instead, what we really need is clarity, simplicity, and a return to what I call Primal Inputs
.

Primal Inputs are the healthy doses of stress that cavemen got from living close to nature on a daily basis. Modern comforts isolate us from environmental stresses (like the cold) that our bodies are adapted to deal with.

Modern humans have replaced:
- Sweltering hot days with AC
- Cold nights with central heating
- Sunlight with fluorescent light
- The wild outdoors with apartments

We've gained a lot, but comfort comes at a price: Tree saplings are a perfect example of this.
Picture
Saplings are sometimes protected from wind damage by being staked and tied with ropes.

The problem with this approach is that trees (just like humans) respond to the conditions they experience.  Tree trunks become stronger as a response to constantly swaying in the wind.  Daily doses of wind, prepare trees for the next storm.

A staked and tied sapling isn't allowed to sway in the wind - it has a weak trunk that can easily snap in a storm when it's eventually untied.  It's easy to see why a sapling that's coddled in a nursery will be weaker & less resilient.

Staked and tied saplings can't ready themselves for adversity, because they don't experience any.
In the same way, your body can't prepare you for challenges you don't have.

Unfortunately, modern comforts insulate us from healthy doses of cold stress (and we all know that a daily dose of cold helps you unlock your potential).

Maintaining the Primal Input of cold exposure requires consistency.

To get ahead, we need to shun distraction & remain focused.  How else are you going to reach your full potential?

Instead of being distracted by the next 'shiny object' or life-hack ebook we should focus to the fundamentals.

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."      - Bruce Lee

Getting a consistent, daily dose of cold exposure can be hard. Cold showers and ice baths are exhilarating, but they aren't exactly fun unless you're a special kind of freak?! 🙃

To stay on a consistent path we don't need more information:

- We need more inspiration!
-
We need more motivation!
-
And we need the right tools!

Inspiration:
It helps to know that other cold ❄️ freaks are walking this path along side you.

Motivation:
Be proud of the steps you've taken!  With so many distractions these days, just the fact that you're reading about cold therapy means you're already ahead of the herd.

Tools:
I used to be a sucker for cheap, Chinese-made tools, but eventually learned that you get what you pay for.

The Chinese-made stuff my friends and I used for targeted cold therapy experiments was sketchy.

We didn't know at the time that our crazy experiments would lead to a new way to level-up.

All we knew was that the cheap stuff sucked, and what we needed wasn't available anywhere.

If you've read this far, I want to congratulate you!

There's no doubt you're a good fit for our emerging community. You know that it takes more than a free ebook to level-up, & you're probably already sold on the cold ❄️️.
